# Can Flexprice Handle Vercel's Pricing?

> Recreate Vercel's pricing in Flexprice with Prompt to Plan: per-seat team pricing plus usage meters with monthly allowances and independent overage rates

Episode 5 of *Can Flexprice Handle It?* recreates Vercel's pricing with Prompt to Plan. Vercel charges a base fee per team seat, then adds usage across bandwidth, function executions, build minutes, image optimizations and edge function invocations. Each meter has a monthly allowance that resets every billing cycle, and overage rates apply to each meter independently.

## How Vercel's pricing maps to Flexprice

| Vercel's pricing uses | Flexprice setup |
| - | - |
| **Base fee per team seat** | [Seat-based pricing](/docs/subscriptions/seat-based-pricing), where the subscription quantity is the seat count |
| **Usage meters** such as edge requests, data transfer and function invocations | One [metered feature](/docs/product-catalogue/features/create) per meter, with a usage charge for the overage rate |
| **Monthly allowance** that resets each billing cycle | [Entitlements](/docs/product-catalogue/features/linking-to-plans) with a usage limit and a monthly reset interval |
| **Included usage credit** on Pro | A recurring credit grant on the plan, which adds credits to the customer's [wallet](/docs/wallet/prepaid-and-promotional) |

Vercel's base cost scales with headcount and consumption at the same time. Seats and usage stay separate charges on one plan, so a new team member changes the seat charge without touching any usage meter.

## Building Vercel's pricing with Prompt to Plan

The episode describes Vercel's plans, including the seat and usage hybrid, in one prompt.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Prompt to Plan">
    In the Flexprice dashboard, go to **Plans** and click **Create with AI**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Describe the pricing">
    On the **Set up your pricing** screen, paste the prompt below and submit it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and confirm">
    Flexprice shows a preview of the features, plans and credit grants it will create. Nothing is saved until you confirm. After you confirm, Flexprice builds the configuration and opens your plans.
  </Step>
</Steps>

```text Prompt used in the episode wrap theme={null}
Create 2 plans for a frontend deployment platform like Vercel.
Hobby (Free): 1M edge requests/mo, 100GB fast data transfer, 4 hrs serverless function CPU, 1M function invocations, 5K image optimizations, 50K web analytics events. For personal/non-commercial use.
Pro at $20/mo with $20 included usage credit: 10M edge requests (then $2/1M), 1TB data transfer (then $0.15/GB), function CPU at $0.128/hr overage, 1M invocations (then $0.60/1M), image optimizations starting at $0.05/1K. This plan also includes team seats at $20/mo each.
