Setting up Flexprice for Slack has two parts. Someone who can add apps to your Slack workspace installs it once. Then each person who wants answers connects their own Flexprice login. Installing the app gives nobody access to billing data: a teammate who hasn’t connected gets a private Connect prompt instead of an answer.

Install Flexprice in your Slack workspace

1

Open the install link

Go to slack.agents.flexprice.io/slack/install. Slack opens its approval page. If you’re signed in to several workspaces, choose the one to install into.
2

Review the permissions and click Allow

Slack lists what Flexprice asks for: messages that mention it, its own direct messages, and the /flexprice command. It can’t read the rest of your channels. See Slack permissions Flexprice requests.
3

Connect from the welcome message

Your browser shows Flexprice is installed, and Flexprice sends you a direct message with Connect buttons. Click Open Slack, then follow Connect your Flexprice login.
If your workspace requires approval for new apps, ask a Slack admin to approve Flexprice, then open the install link again. Install Flexprice into a single workspace: org-wide installs on Enterprise Grid aren’t supported.
Installing again on a workspace that already has Flexprice replaces only the app’s Slack token. Everyone’s connections and conversations stay as they are.

Connect your Flexprice login

Everyone connects separately, including the person who installed the app.
1

Get your Connect buttons

Run /flexprice connect in any conversation. You also get the buttons automatically if you ask a question before connecting. Only you can see them, and their links work for 10 minutes.
2

Pick the region your account is in

Click the button that matches the dashboard you sign in to.
3

Log in and choose an environment

Your browser opens the Flexprice login page. Log in, and on Authorize Flexprice for Slack, pick an environment under Environment it will work in. The page starts on the environment your dashboard is using. Click Authorize.
4

Go back to Slack

The browser shows You’re connected with your account, company, environment, and region, and Flexprice sends you a direct message that says the same. Click Open Slack and ask a question.
Each region has its own accounts. A US account can’t log in through the India button, and an India account can’t log in through the US button. If the login page doesn’t accept your account, run /flexprice connect again and pick the other region.
You have one connection per Slack workspace. Connecting again, in either region, replaces it. Your connection is never shared: teammates in the same workspace or the same Flexprice company each connect on their own.

Check which account and environment you’re using

Run /flexprice status:
Every answer also names its environment in the grey line at the bottom, so you can tell Sandbox data from Production data at a glance.

Switch between Sandbox and Production

Your Flexprice login works in every environment you can use in your company, so switching doesn’t need a new login. It changes only the environment Flexprice sends with your API calls.
1

Run the environment command

Run /flexprice environment. Flexprice lists your other environments as buttons. To skip the list, add the name, for example /flexprice environment Production.
2

Pick an environment

Picking one doesn’t switch yet. Flexprice asks you to confirm, and warns you when the target is a production environment: changes you confirm there affect your live billing data.
3

Click Yes, switch

Flexprice answers from the new environment until you switch again. Click No to stay where you are.
After a switch:
  • Answers and confirmed changes use the new environment.
  • Threads you started in the old environment don’t carry over. Asking again in one of them starts a fresh conversation.
  • A confirmation card drafted before the switch isn’t sent if you click Yes on it. Ask again to get a new card.
The list shows only environments Flexprice returns for you: the published environments in your company that you’re allowed to use. If you can use only one, Flexprice says so. The agent can’t switch for you: if you ask it to, it points you to /flexprice environment.

Reconnect when your login expires

Flexprice renews your login in the background, so you don’t need to reconnect on a schedule. If Flexprice can’t renew it, for example because the login was revoked, your next question gets this reply, and Connect buttons appear that only you can see:
Click the button for your region and log in again.

Disconnect your Flexprice login

Run /flexprice disconnect. Flexprice deletes your connection and its access and refresh tokens right away, and stops answering you until you connect again. Clicking Yes on an open confirmation card while you’re disconnected sends nothing.

Uninstall Flexprice from your workspace

When Flexprice is removed from your workspace in Slack’s app management, or its tokens are revoked, Flexprice deletes the workspace’s install, every person’s connection and tokens, and all conversation history for that workspace. Open confirmation cards expire without being sent. See What Flexprice stores and for how long.
